Group Three: Yemen defeats Guam and achieves second place

The Yemen national team took second place after defeating Guam 5-1 on Tuesday at Viet Tri City Stadium, in the third and final round of the third group competitions in the 2024 AFC U-23 Cup qualifiers in Qatar.

Hamza Mahrous (2), Muhammad Al-Qashmi (17), Qasim Al-Sharafi (25), captain Ahmed Maher (69), and substitute Saqr Ibrahim Al-Harbi (88) scored the goals for Yemen, while Micah Thomas (23) scored Guam’s only goal.

Vietnam topped the group standings with 7 points from three matches, compared to 6 points for Yemen, 2 points for Singapore, and a point for Guam. Vietnam obtained the direct qualification ticket to the finals from the group.
