The 2023 Club World Cup draw will be held in Jeddah

Today, Tuesday, the draw ceremony and the launch of the official logo for the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023™️ were held in the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, and the President of the Saudi Football Association and FIFA Council Member Yasser bin Hassan Al-Mashal.

The draw resulted in a confrontation between the winner of the opening match between the Saudi representative, Al-Ittihad, and New Zealand’s Auckland City, and the Egyptian Al-Ahly, the African champion, in the quarter-finals, which will witness a confrontation between the Mexican Club Leon, the North American champion, and the Japanese champion, Urawa Red Diamonds, the Asian champion.

The tournament is scheduled to take place during the period from December 12-22, when it will witness 7 strong confrontations on the grounds of the city of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The list of matches includes:

– First round (first match) – Tuesday, December 12, 2023 – Al-Ittihad and Auckland City
– Second round (second match) – Friday, December 15, 2023 – Al-Ahly and the team that won the first match
– Second round (third match) – Friday, December 15, 2023 – Club Lyon and Urawa Red Diamonds
– Semi-finals (fourth match) – Monday, December 18, 2023 – the winner of the Copa Libertadores championship and the winner of the second match
– Semi-finals (fifth match) Tuesday, December 19, 2023 – The winner of the third match and Manchester City.

It is noteworthy that the city of Jeddah has hosted, in recent years, a number of the most prominent international sporting events, including the Spanish Super Cup, the Italian Super Cup, the STC Formula 1 Saudi Grand Prix, the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship, and others.
