Roberto Mancini.. the most important milestones in the career of the new coach of the Saudi team

The 58-year-old Mancini started his football career with Bologna in the 1981/1982 season, playing 30 matches for him and scoring 9 goals, and in 1982 he moved to Sampdoria, and stayed until 1997, and participated with the team in 424 matches and scored 132 goals, then moved in 1997 to Lazio. He played until 2000, participated in 85 matches and scored 15 goals, and in 2001 his last stop in the English Premier League was with Leicester City on loan, in a short experience that included only 4 matches, then he retired from playing.

At the international level, Mancini played with the Azzurri between 1984 and 1994, 36 matches, scoring 4 goals.

Before the end of his career as a player, Mancini began his coaching career, where he worked as an assistant coach in Lazio in the 2000/2001 season, and in the 2001/2002 season he coached Fiorentina, and in 2002 he coached Lazio until 2004, then he moved to coaching Inter Milan, and Mancini managed to win two Italian Cup titles, two Italian Super Cup titles, and the Italian League championship three times with Inter, and he also managed to win the Italian Cup with Fiorentina and Lazio. His career in Inter coaching ended on May 29, 2008.

In late 2009, Mancini moved to England to succeed Welsh coach Mark Hughes in training Manchester City 2009/2013 with the nomination of the Emirati team owners, and he managed to win the English Premier League championship after more than 45 years, but he was dismissed due to losing the English League Cup final against Wigan, and then He contracted with the Turkish Galatasaray 2013/2014, and was dismissed due to poor results in a period that did not last more than six months, then Inter contracted with him to succeed Matrazzi 2014/2016.

Mancini took over the training of Zenit St. Petersburg 2017/2018, and in 2018 he took charge of the Italian national team and won the European Championship two years ago, to leave in 2023 and head to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assume the task of leading the Saudi team for the next 3 years.
