Find out the results of the 2023-2024 AFC Cup draw for the Gulf clubs

On Thursday, the draw for the group stage of the AFC Cup 2023-2024 took place, which resulted in strong and exciting confrontations.

The Kuwaiti club, which won the championship title three times before, was drawn into the strong second group, which includes the Jordanian Al-Wehdat, the Iraqi Al-Kahraba club and Al-Ittihad Al-Ahly of Syria, the champion of the 2010 edition.

On the other hand, the Lebanese club Al-Ahed, the 2019 champion, will play in the first Group, facing the Syrian Fatwa, the Palestinian Jabal Al-Mukaber and the Omani Al-Nahda. While the third group included Al-Zawraa from Iraq, Al-Riffa from Bahrain, Al-Najma from Lebanon and Al-Arabi from Kuwait.

The 19th edition of the AFC Cup, which is the first edition to be held in a system from autumn to spring, includes 36 clubs from the five AFC regions across nine groups, and the tournament competitions are scheduled to take place between September 2023 and May 2024.

The first-placed team in each group, along with the best second-placed team, qualifies for the semi-finals of the West region, and the same applies to the ASEAN region, so that the two winning teams in the semi-finals qualify for the final match for each region.

The champion of the ASEAN region will move to compete in the semi-finals of the regions, where it will be joined by the first-placed teams in the fourth (south), fifth (middle) and ninth (east) groups.

A lottery will be drawn to determine the two matches before the final of the regions, provided that the two winning teams in the final of the regions meet, in order to determine the team that qualifies to face the winner of the final of the western region, in the final of the AFC Cup 2023-2024, which will be held on May 5, 2024.
