Quarter-finals of the AFC U-17 Cup: Yemen lost to Iran on penalties

The Yemeni national team lost to Iran in the quarter-finals, by a penalty shootout, 4-2, after the two teams tied 0-0 in regular time, Sunday, at Thammasat Stadium in Pathum Thani, in the quarter-finals of the AFC U-17 Junior Cup 2023 in Thailand.

Yemen qualified for this role after finishing second in the first Group with 6 points from three matches, after beating Malaysia 4-0, Laos 2-1 and losing to Thailand 0-1.

Against Iran, it topped the the second Group standings in the first round with 7 points from three matches, as it beat Afghanistan 6-1, tied with Qatar 0-0, then beat South Korea 2-0.
