AFC U-17 Championship: Saudi Arabia beats China and takes top spot in the group

The Saudi national team took the lead after winning its third consecutive victory by defeating China 3-0 Thursday at Chonburi City Stadium, in the third and final round of the third Group competitions in the AFC U-17 Junior Championship 2023 in Thailand.

Muhammad Al-Mawlid (45), Nawaf Al-Bishri (79) and Ammar Al-Yahibi (90 + 2) scored the winning goals for the Saudi national team.

Saudi Arabia topped the group standings with 9 full points from three matches, compared to 6 points for Australia, and a point for each of Tajikistan and China, as Saudi Arabia and Australia got the two qualifying cards for the group to the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals, Saudi Arabia will meet the second in the fourth Group,while Australia will meet the first in the fourth Group.
