Friendly matches: Kuwait and Qatar won over Sudan and Jamaica, and Iraq lost to Colombia

Kuwait’s first football team defeated its Sudanese counterpart 2-1, in the friendly match that brought them together at the Cairo International Stadium, within the preparatory camp held by the Kuwaiti team in the Egyptian capital. Shabib Al-Khalidi scored the two goals for Kuwait (56 and 61).

The national team delegation will leave on Sunday to the Indian city of Bangalore to compete in the South Asian Championship from June 21 to July 3.

In a second friendly match, Qatar defeated Jamaica 2-1 at the Swansea Stadium in Vienna, as part of the teams’ preparations for the Gold Cup hosted by the United States and Canada.

Hammam Al-Amin (31) and Muhammad Muntari (40) scored for the Qatar national team, while Shamar Nicholson scored for the Jamaican national team (61).

The victory is the first for the Qatari national team under the leadership of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz in the second match since he took office last February, as he began his era with a loss against the Croatian U-23 national team 0-1 on the eighth of June.

The Qatari national team will conclude its current preparatory camp with a third and final confrontation against New Zealand on the 19th of this month, to leave the next day for the United States.

In a third match, the Iraqi national team lost to its Colombian counterpart on Friday, 1-0, in an international friendly match that took place in Spain.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, Colombia scored its only goal through Matthews Casera in the 76th minute of the match.
