Iraqi youth conclude their preparations to face Uruguay in the opening match of their World Cup campaign

The Iraqi youth team concluded its training at the Estudientes Stadium, in preparation for the Uruguay national team’s opening match in the World Cup finals on Monday at 6:00 Argentine time, 12:00 p.m. Baghdad time at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in the city of de la Plata.

The training was attended by the President of the Iraqi Football Association, “Adnan Darjal,” as well as members of the Football Association, “Mohammed Nasser and Khalaf Jalal,” the Iraqi charge d’affaires in Brazil, “Firas Al-Hamdani,” and the coach of our Spanish national team, “Jesus Casas.”

The training unit focused on some light exercises and special exercises, preceded by a technical lecture in which the coaching staff and players followed the strengths and weaknesses of the Uruguay national team, and the appropriate way to confront it.

For his part, the coach of the youth team, Emad Mohamed, expressed his full confidence in the players to achieve a positive result against Uruguay. Indicating: It will enter from the gate of its first match to this group to compete for the first card to qualify for the next round.

Muhammad confirmed: All players are fully prepared, and I have absolute faith that all players are in the starting line-up, as well as the substitute players.

Muhammad concluded his speech by saying: We seek in this World Cup, and in our first match, to draw joy on the faces of the Iraqis.

For his part, the captain of the Iraqi youth team, Abdul Razzaq Qassem, said: He is fully confident of achieving a positive result and drawing a smile on the faces of the Iraqis.

The match will be led by a Swedish refereeing team consisting of “Glenn Nyberg”, the referee of the arena, his first assistant, “Mahbod Beige”, and his second assistant, “Andreas Söderqvist”, while “Lin Sung Hoon” from South Korea will be an observer for the match.

It is expected that some Iraqi expatriates in South America, specifically from Brazil, will attend Iraq’s match against Uruguay to provide support and encouragement. The Iraqi embassy in Brazil has also prepared the Iraqi flags to distribute them among the fans who will witness the match from the stands.

It is also hoped that the Uruguayan public will be present in abundance, since many of the Uruguayan community live in Argentina, in addition to the close distance between the two countries.

In a related context, the family of the player, “Adam Talib,” as well as the father of the player, “Roman Dulacci,” and the father and sister of the player, “Alexander Uraha,” arrived to support them in the World Cup finals.

The Argentine press and specialized sports websites, for their part, described the match between the two teams as strong, as the two teams have players who are expected to make a mark in this tournament, especially since Uruguay has a good record in that tournament, and Iraq will return to the World Cup under 20 years for the first time since the 2013 edition.
