Saudi Al Hilal loses the AFC Champions League 2022 in favor of Urawa, Japan

AFC Champions League 2022 in favor of Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan, in the confrontation that brought the two teams together today, Saturday, at Saitama 2002 in Saitama, in the second leg of the final round, with a score of 0-1.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw, Urawa Reds scored the winning goal through Al Hilal player Andre Carillo (accidentally inside his own goal) in the 49th minute.

The first-leg match between the two teams ended last Saturday with a 1-1 draw at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, to crown Urawa Reds the title after winning 2-1 on aggregate.

Urawa Reds achieved the third title in the history of the tournament, after it had won the tournament twice before, in 2007 and 2017.

On the other hand, Al-Hilal failed to win the championship for the fifth time, as it won the Asian Club Championship Champions League in 1991 and 2000, and the AFC Champions League 2019 and 2021.
