Saudi Arabia begins its journey in the 2023 AFC Youth Cup by defeating Kyrgyzstan

The Saudi national team, the defending champion, defeated Kyrgyzstan 1-0 on Friday at Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, in the first round of the fourth Group competitions in the AFC U-20 Youth Cup 2023 in Uzbekistan.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw, the Saudi national team scored the winning goal in the 50th minute, through a penalty kick executed by Abdullah Redeef.

The second round of group competitions will be held on Monday, when China will meet Saudi Arabia, and Kyrgyzstan will meet Japan.

The first two teams from each group qualify for the quarter-finals, whose matches will be held on March 11 and 12.

It is noteworthy that the teams that finish in the first four places in the tournament qualify for the FIFA U-20 Youth World Cup 2023 in Indonesia.
