Lopetegui, Qatar National Team Head Coach: We Have Great Respect for Switzerland, But We Fear No Opponent

Julen Lopetegui, head coach of the Qatar national football team, expressed his confidence in Al Annabi’s ability to deliver a strong performance in its upcoming match against Switzerland in Group B of the 2026 World Cup.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference held today, the Qatar coach said:

The former Spain national team coach added:

“We have great respect for the Swiss national team, which is one of the strongest teams participating in the tournament. However, we fear no opponent, and we have prepared for this competition in the best possible way.”

Group B features Qatar, Switzerland, Canada, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Earlier, Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina played out a 1-1 draw in their opening group-stage encounter.
