AFC Cup: Bahrain’s Riffa and Oman’s Al-Nahda tied in the first leg of the Western semi-final
Bahraini club Al-Riffa tied with its guest, Al-Nahda of Oman, 1-1, in the match hosted by Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Manama, in the first leg of the Al-Gharb region semi-final in the AFC Cup 2023-2024.
Al-Riffa took the lead through Ali Haram’s goal in the 62nd minute, before Al-Nahda equalized through Entres Guy (77).
The return match between the two teams will be held next Monday, February 19, at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Stadium in Muscat.
While the second match will be held in the first leg of the Western semi-final on Tuesday, where the Iraqi Al-Kahraba will meet the Lebanese Al-Ahed at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Stadium in Muscat.
In the group stage, Al-Riffa topped the third group standings with 13 points from six matches, compared to 11 points for Al-Zawraa of Iraq, 8 for Al-Arabi of Kuwait and a point for Al-Najma of Lebanon.
On the other hand, Al-Nahda took the lead in the first group with 9 points from four matches, compared to 6 points for the Lebanese Al-Ahed and 3 for the Syrian Fatwa.
