The draw for the AFC U-23 Cup
The final draw for the AFC U-23 Cup Qatar 2024 will take place the day after tomorrow, Thursday, at 12:00 noon in the Al Bustan Hall at the Wyndham Hotel in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The tournament will witness the participation of 16 teams competing to win the title of the sixth edition of the tournament, which will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024.
The teams that finish in the first three places in the tournament qualify to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, while the team that ranks fourth will move on to participate in the global playoff, facing a team from Africa, in order to have the opportunity to participate in the Olympic tournament.
The list of participants in the finals includes the host Qatar, in addition to 15 teams that qualified by participating in the qualifiers last September, and they are the 11 teams that topped their groups and the best four teams that finished in second place.
Among the participants in the tournament, there are eight teams that participated in all previous editions, namely Australia, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan, while on the other hand, the Indonesian team is participating in the finals for the first time.
– First level (classified from 1 to 4): Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Japan
– Second level (ranked 5 to 8): Australia, Iraq, Vietnam, South Korea
– Third level (classified from 9 to 12): Thailand: Jordan, UAE, Kuwait
– Fourth level (ranked 13 to 16): Malaysia, Tajikistan, Indonesia, China.
