The Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation signs a cooperation agreement with the West Asian Federation

Today, September 24, 2023, the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation and the West Asian Football Federation signed a joint cooperation agreement.

The headquarters of the West Asian Football Federation in the Jordanian capital, Amman, hosted the signing ceremony of the agreement, which was held in the presence of His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the West Asian Football Federation, and His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation.

The agreement aims to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two federations to develop the field of football. The agreement also contributes to coordinating the process of programming the agenda of tournaments and activities for the two federations, and fixing them for longer periods of time in the coming years.

His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein and His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani emphasized the importance of signing this agreement in order to unify the efforts made by the two federations to serve football in the region.

His Highness the Prince appreciated the great efforts made by the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation since the long performances and the positive repercussions that accompanied this with notable developments on Football, and was distinguished by the gains expected to be achieved by this cooperation thanks to the well-known experiences and expertise between the two federations.

His Highness added: The agreement is considered a new starting point towards further work to develop football and achieve a positive impact on national federations, whether in the Gulf, or in West Asia in general. It is also a strong bridge linking the two leading federations, and strengthening the bonds of future cooperation between them.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani also expressed the importance of this agreement, which comes within the efforts of the two federations to create fruitful partnerships that will contribute to the development and support of football, in light of the accumulated experiences of both parties, the exchange of which constitutes a qualitative addition to achieving successes.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani praised the roles provided by the West Asian Federation in supporting the game, in addition to its keenness to prepare ambitious and comprehensive plans that focus mainly on providing fertile ground to support the programs of the two federations.

He said: The two federations meet common goals, and the agreement constitutes a source of strength for working to translate these goals into reality. It also enhances the remarkable presence of the two federations at the regional level and maintains the continuity of their vital role and fulfills their lofty mission towards developing football.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Mr. Jassim Sultan Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation, and Mr. Khalil Al Salem, Secretary General of the West Asian Federation.
