Bahraini League: Manama and Muharraq tie ignites the competition
The leading teams, Manama, tied with Al-Muharraq 1-1 at the top of the twentieth round matches of the Bahraini Football League, which saw Al-Khalidiya rise to second place by defeating Al-Hala 2-1.
With only two rounds remaining until the end of the competition, Manama outperforms its closest competitors, Al-Khalidiya, by only one point, and two points from Sitra, the third-place finisher, while the chances of fourth-place Muharraq remain, as it is separated by only 3 points from the lead.
Manama advanced first through Ahmed Musa (68), and Manuel Victor equalized for Al-Muharraq (75). On the other hand, Ismail Abdul Latif opened the scoring for Al-Khalidiya at the minute (21), and Sami Friwi added the second goal (34), while Yahya Anfahi scored the goal of Al-Hala (45).
Sitra maintained its hopes of competing for the title by defeating Al-Budaiya 3-0, scored by Sedina (21), Badr Bashir (35) and Mishaal Al-Shammari (43).
Al-Riffa defeated its neighbor, East Riffa, with a goal from Jordan, Amin Al-Shanaina (18), and Al-Hidd defeated Bahrain with four goals scored by Thiago (45 and 82), Issa Jihad (61) and Muhammad Jamal (68), against a single goal that came from Naji Fathi (74).
Al-Ahly’s confrontation with Al-Shabab ended in a 0-0 draw.
