Al-Nahda of Oman crowned with His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for the first time in its history

Al-Nahda Club was crowned with His Majesty the Sultan’s Football Cup for the 2022-2023 sports season for the first time in its history, after defeating Al-Seeb Club with a clean goal in the final of the competition, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Al-Nahda started with the players Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini in goalkeepers, the defense quartet Nasser Al-Shamali, Ahmed Al-Matroushi, Ahmed Al-Kaabi, Abdulaziz Al-Shamousi, the quarterback Arseny Loko, Anters Guy, Ali Al-Hinai and Al-Mundhir Al-Alawi, and Omar Al-Maliki along with Sami Al-Hasani.

While Al-Seeb played in a 4-4-2 manner, with Ahmed Al-Rawahi standing in the goal, and in defense Jumaa Al-Habsi, Ali Al-Busaidi, Muhammad Al-Muslami and Hassan Al-Ajmi, and in the middle Eid Al-Farsi, Jibula, Salah Al-Yahya’i and Muhammad Al-Habsi, and the duo of Imam Mohsen Al-Ghassani and Abdulaziz Al-Muqbali.

The first half ended with Al-Nahda club advancing with a clean goal scored by professional player Antress J from a penalty kick, after Al-Seeb goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Rawahi blocked Al-Nahda club striker Omar Al-Maliki.

In the second half, Al-Seeb club tried to return to the meeting, and created more than one opportunity to score the equalizer, but the toughness of Al-Nahda defenders and goalkeeper Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini was sufficient to confront the danger of the Al-Seeb attackers.

The meeting was moderated by the international referee Yahya Al-Balushi and Hammoud Al-Shuaibi as a first assistant, Salem Al-Abri as second assistant helped him manage the match. Ahmed Al-Hilali was the fourth referee while the first additional referee was Saeed Al-Muzaini along with the second additional referee Muhammad Al-Manei. The resident of the referees was Abdullah Al-Hilali.
