Sukup: I will work to take advantage of the opportunities and Al-Hajri is out of the team

A press conference was held at eleven twenty-five minutes this morning, Iraqi time, for Sokob, the coach of the Yemen national team, which precedes the confrontation between Yemen and Oman in the second round of the twenty-fifth Arab Gulf Cup, which is hosted by Basra.

And Sukup began: “Of course, tomorrow’s match is important.” Oman is one of the candidates. They have a great coach. I expect it to be a strong match. They prepared well before the tournament in a camp in Dubai and against Syria and, before that, Germany. Their method is clear (4/4/2). They do not concede many goals. And we have to take advantage of the opportunities against Oman. We have injuries and diseases, but the rest are ready.

On avoiding the negatives of the first meeting, Sokob said: “We created chances and did not score.” Everyone talks well about Morocco, but against Portugal, it was not good, but it won the same match as Saudi Arabia. The difference is that they have great players who take advantage of opportunities to turn them into goals.

Soukup stressed: “The Oman match will not be easy; we have to focus on taking advantage of any opportunity; we will focus on shooting towards the goal; we analyzed the first match, and we will be free from the tension of the first meeting; we must be patient in front of the goal; and we must strive to perform well and score goals.”

Sokob confirmed that there is a misunderstanding. I said that Saudi Arabia has the appropriate environment, the capabilities, and the financial ability to prepare in a distinguished way. I did not say that we are like Tuktuk and Saudi Arabia Mercedes; they have a strong professional league. Give me that and then ask me to achieve results.

Regarding the absence of Ayman Al-Hajri, who plays in the Iraqi league, he said: “He joined us in training, but he was not ready, and he returned home.”

Player Omar Dahi said: “Oman is one of the most prominent favorites, but we have to fight and play a good match.”

Omar Al-Dahi confirmed: “We enter the meeting with full focus to achieve a positive result and make the Yemeni public happy.”
