On the sidelines of the 25th Gulf Cup draw… Hani Ballan chairs the meeting of the referees committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Association

The Referees Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation held its meeting headed by Mr. Hani Taleb Balan, on the sidelines of the 25th Gulf Cup draw ceremony, which will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Basra.

The meeting, which was held in Al-Sayyab Hall at the Grand Millennium Hotel, was attended by the members of the committee: Najah Rahm from Iraq and Muhammad Bajiah Al-Shamri from Kuwait, along with Ahmed Al-Attar, the rapporteur of the referees committee, while Khalifa Al-Dosari from Bahrain, and Hamad Al-Mazrouei from the UAE attended via video technology connection.

At the beginning of the meeting, Hani Talib welcomed the new members. After that, the meeting reviewed the topics on the agenda, and the arbitration regulations were discussed with a study of a number of proposals that will be submitted to the General Secretariat for approval.

The meeting witnessed the confirmation of the regulatory procedures related to the tournament in arbitration, through the intensive courses for referees, while discussing the available ways to exit the tournament in the best arbitration form.

The meeting reviewed the nominations for the initial names to confirm their participation in the tournament in Basra, in addition to inviting the Asian and International Federations to participate in the Gulf Referees Committee and work to develop the technical level and raise it to reach an outstanding performance with the start of the tournament.

Commenting on the meeting, Hani Talib Balan, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, expressed his great happiness with the purposeful and constructive discussion that is in the interest of the Gulf referees, and the efforts made by the members to develop the arbitration process in the Gulf championship.

He explained, “The use of video technology in the Gulf championships has become mandatory, and there will be a preparatory camp five days before the start of the tournament in Basra, and international experts and lecturers from the International and Asian Federations will be invited to contribute to the preparation of the referees.”

The Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation thanked the efforts made by the Iraqi brothers and their tireless efforts to make the tournament a success in all respects, which will certainly be achieved through concerted efforts.

Ballan concluded his statements by noting that an elite group of experienced referees will be invited to contribute to bringing the tournament referees to the highest technical levels, and to enrich the referees’ committee with diverse and different experiences.
