Muhammad Al-Deayea, the maker of Saudi glories, who decorated the Guinness Book of Records

To achieve with the national team the International Friendship Cup and get the best goalkeeper award, and participate with the youth team in the Palestine Championship and get the best goalkeeper award, after which he suffered a cruciate ligament injury, from which he recovered after a long period of treatment from football practice that extended for nearly two years.

Al-Deayea returned after injury in 1993 to participate with the first team of Al-Taei and with the Saudi national team, and the national coach, Muhammad Al-Kharashi, announced his inclusion of the Saudi Green and he was 20 years old. When the Saudi team beat Iran, the Saudi team participated in 5 matches, and Al-Deayea only conceded 6 goals in those qualifiers that included strong teams.

In the summer of 1994, the Saudi national team headed to the United States of America to participate in the World Cup. In front of the Netherlands, the danger of Bergkamp and Yokman’s shots stopped at the hands and feet of Al-Daei. In front of Morocco, he saved the team from several certain goals. In the face of Belgium, he succeeded in stopping the Belgian stars such as Enzo Chevaux, so that the team qualified for the round of 16 is an unexpected achievement, but it lost against Sweden in the round of 8, and the Saudi team exited the World Cup with six goals in four matches, at a rate of 1.5 per game, during the first participation of Al-Deayea and the team in the World Cup, and the International Federation chose him among the world stars in that Championship, and among the best goalkeepers in the world.

Al-Akhdar then headed to the UAE to participate in the 1994 Gulf Cup, and there Al-Deayea led him to a new achievement, where the team achieved the first Gulf Cup. In the Confederations Cup for national teams in Riyadh, he lost two matches and conceded four goals, and the team’s modest level played a role in that, then came the participation in the Asian Cup qualifiers, and Al-Daei succeeded in leading the team to the Asian Cup finals held in the Emirates, where Al-Akhdar played three games and managed to qualify for the Asian Cup without goals.

In the UAE, the Saudi team achieved the 1996 Asian Cup, where it overcame China, then faced the Iranian team in the round of four, to qualify for the final match against the Emirates, the owner of the land and the public in a difficult match that headed to the penalty shootout, Al-Deayea saved the Emirati strikes, for Al-Akhdar to win the title and Al-Deayea to become the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

With the beginning of 1997, the preliminary qualifiers for the World Cup began, and Muhammad Al-Deayea scored only one goal in six matches. The team participated in the third Confederations Cup in 1997, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia, but the team came out of this tournament empty-handed, as it faced strong teams such as the Brazilian team and its most prominent strikers Ronaldo and Romario.

In the Crown Prince Cup, Al-Deayea with Al-Taei reached the final against Al-Ittihad and Al-Taei lost the title. After that, Muhammad Al-Deayea went with the national team to participate in the 1998 World Cup in France, and the Saudi lost against Denmark with one goal, and against France by four goals, and tied with South Africa, and in this tournament Al-Deayea was chosen as the best Saudi player in the national team match against France. Then the Saudi team participated in the 1998 Gulf Cup, but lost the title, and Al-Deayea only entered two goals.

The team headed to Qatar to participate in the 1998 Arab Cup, and in that tournament, Al-Deayea succeeded in contributing with his colleagues to achieving the Arab title for the first time. Then the team went to participate in the Fourth Confederations Cup in Mexico in 1999, and there it suffered an eight goal loss from the Brazilian team, and Al-Akhdar returned with a single victory over the Egyptian team.

Al-Dayea moved to Al-Hilal, and only 4 months have passed since his transfer, but he raised the founder’s cup in a tournament that is held only every 100 years. After that, Al-Hilal achieved the Asian Club Championship, the Champions League, with three goals to two goals against Japan’s Gabello Iwata.

In 2000, Al-Deayea participated with the national team in the Asian Nations Cup in Lebanon, and the team lost the final against Japan with a single goal. Then Al-Deayea won the Friendship Championship with Al-Hilal by defeating the Asir team with penalty kicks, then the Arab Clubs Cup Champions Cups against Al-Nasr with two goals to one, and then the Super Cup, The Asian Championship against the Japanese Shimizu, and then the Arab Elite Championship, and Al-Deayea won with Al-Hilal the championship of President Hosni Mubarak in front of Al-Ismaili.

Injuries prevented Al-Deayea from participating in the final qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup, but he was able to form a heavy weight and participate in the important and last matches, knowing that he participated in the preliminary qualifiers and did not concede any goal, and in 2002 the team participated in the Gulf Cup, which was hosted by Saudi Arabia, Al-Akhdar almost lost the title, but managed to achieve it for the second time. Al-Deayea returned to participate with Al-Hilal and achieved the 2002 Asian Cup with it. In less than two weeks, he went to Jeddah to face Al-Ittihad in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup final and the leader achieved the championship, but Muhammad Al-Deayea then suffered a hand injury.

In the 2002 World Cup, the team came out with Al-Deayea’s participation with very severe losses, including an eight goals loss against Germany. He was subjected to various injuries, and after recovering from them, coach Nasser Al-Johar chose him to lead the team in the first international Islamic session held in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2005, to succeed in achieving the gold medal and thus be the only Saudi, Arab and Asian player who combines Arab, Asian, Islamic and international championships.

Al-Deayea returned to participate with Al-Hilal, and achieved the Crown Prince Cup in 2006 against Al-Ahly. Muhammad Al-Deayea was summoned to participate with the national team in the 2006 World Cup. Although he was the main goalkeeper in the friendly matches, coach Paquita chose Mabrouk Zayed to be the main goalkeeper in the World Cup, Paquita prevented him from participating internationally, so he announced his official retirement from international football after the team’s exit from the 2006 World Cup with Sami Al Jaber to bid farewell to the team.

In the 2008 season, Al Hilal achieved the Crown Prince Cup against Al Ettifaq, as well as the League Championship, and Al-Deayea had officially announced his retirement after the end of the Crown Prince Cup final, but King Salman bin Abdulaziz rejected his decision, and asked him to continue in the stadiums to complete with Al Hilal his tenth year and his 22nd year.

In the 2008/2009 season, Al-Deayea succeeded in breaking records, as he managed to keep a clean sheet for more than 4 matches, and also achieved the Crown Prince Cup without conceding any goal, thus being the goalkeeper who managed to achieve two official championships without conceding any goal in 2000 and 2009, and Al-Deayea had managed to break another record, as he finished the sports season and conceded only 9 goals.

In the 2009/2010 season, he achieved the league championship before the end with three rounds, and the Blue Wave also achieved the Crown Prince Cup, and supported Al Hilal Olympics to reach the final of the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Cup, and on the external level, it qualified for the 8th Asian round, and before the start of the 2010/2011 season, Muhammad Al-Deayea decided to officially retire.
