Extension of the deadline for expressing an interest in hosting the 2023 AFC Asian Cup

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the extension of the deadline for member associations to express interest in hosting the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, from 30 June 2022 to 15 July 2022.

The Asian Football Confederation issued the invitation to express its desire to host the Asian Cup, on May 31, 2022, in the wake of China’s apology for hosting the 2023 Asian Cup, as the General Assembly of the Asian Football Confederation, during its thirty-second meeting, granted the authority to manage in the Asian Football Confederation to set the conditions and requirements for submitting the nomination files, with the aim of finding an alternative to host the tournament.

Following the conclusion of the filing process, the AFC management will submit a report on its recommendations to the AFC Executive Office, in order to select the new host for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
