With the participation of 4 Gulf teams, the West Asian Junior Championships will start next June 22 in Jordan
The draw for the ninth West Asian Junior Championships resulted in the teams of Jordan, Iraq, Yemen and Oman being in the first group, while the second group included the teams of Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Kuwait.
On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the West Asian Federation held the draw for the tournament, which will be hosted by the Jordan Football Association, from June 22 to July 1, 2022.
The tournament will open on June 22 with two matches between Iraq and Yemen, Jordan and Oman, and on the next day, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Kuwait will meet, then on June 24 it will play Oman, Iraq, Yemen and Jordan.
The matches will continue on the 25th with two confrontations between Kuwait and Palestine, Syria and Lebanon, and a day later, Yemen, Oman, Jordan and Iraq will play, and finally, at the conclusion of the group stage on June 27, Syria, Kuwait, Lebanon and Palestine will meet.
On the 29th, the two semi-final matches will be held between the champions of the first group and the second of the second group, and between the champions of the second group and the first runner-up, so that the two winners qualify for the final match that will be held on the first of July 2022.
It is expected that the West Asian Federation will later circulate the final and official schedule of the junior championship, including the dates and venue for the matches.
The eighth edition of the junior championship was held in Saudi Arabia at the end of 2021, when the Yemeni team won the title at the expense of the host.
