The AFC delegation concludes its inspection visit to the proposed stadiums and facilities for the 2027 Asian Cup

The delegation of the Asian Football Confederation concluded its five-day visit to the Qatari capital, Doha, to find out the latest preparations of the country in the context of bidding to host the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, with the official announcement of the winning bid to host the event approaching.
During this visit, the inspection delegation from the AFC examined Qatar’s complete readiness from now on, with a visit to many facilities, stadiums and facilities, and to be informed of all proposed plans to host the 2027 Asian Cup in the event of winning the organizing rights
The AFC delegation was accompanied on the inspection visit by representatives of the Qatar Football Association and the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Bid Committee.
The Qatar Football Association affirmed its commitment to meet all hosting requirements in the event of its victory, according to the timetable approved by the Asian Football Confederation, and in accordance with the conditions and standards of the organization.
The delegation conducted a comprehensive evaluation to study the effectiveness and efficiency of the various facilities and mechanisms proposed to organize and host the tournament matches, including stadiums and the mechanism for issuing match tickets, information technology, advertising and marketing, radio and television broadcasting, protocol and hospitality, and security and safety factors.
The delegation inspected six of the eight fully-equipped World Cup stadiums designated for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which are Al Bayt Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, 974 Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium and Al Janoub Stadium.
It also toured various departments of Aspire, such as Aspetar Hospital, the championship leadership center during major events, metro facilities, Hamad Medical City, the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center and the Qatar National Convention Center, in addition to visiting some hotels designated for national teams and other vital facilities.
During the visit, several meetings were held between the AFC delegation and officials of the Qatar Football Association and the 2027 AFC Asian Cup File Committee.
It is noteworthy that the Qatar 2027 file is competing with the candidacy files of Saudi Arabia, India, and Iran, and it is expected that the AFC will announce the winning file during the first quarter of this year through the voting system for members of the AFC General Assembly during its convening.
The QFA handed over the first part of the file on August 26, followed by the delivery of the second part of the file, including all legal requirements, on October 29, and then the third part of the file, which included government guarantee requirements, on November 26.
Finally, the final file was handed over on December 15, containing all the requirements of the hosting conditions, and reinforcing the great legacy of the State of Qatar in the field of hosting continental and international sporting events and tournaments.
In its quest to organize the tournament in accordance with international standards, the Qatar Football Association relies on its accumulated experience and its enormous organizational balance, especially since the event will be organized after hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, and what it will leave a great legacy.
This is in addition to the absolute readiness of all projects related to the World Cup, on which the candidacy file to host the 2027 Asian Cup is based at the same time, including infrastructure such as road networks, multiple facilities, the hospitality sector and transportation, including the metro, and other giant projects and services included in the file, which meets the vision of the state 2030.
