Al Annabi advances to the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup
The Qatari team succeeded in advancing to the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup (North, Central America and the Caribbean), which is currently being held in America, after defeating Honduras 2-0 on Tuesday evening (Wednesday morning GMT) in the last third round of Group D matches.
The Qatar national football team is participating in the Gold Cup as part of a strategic partnership between the Qatar Football Association and CONCACAF.
The Qatari team raised its score to seven points to win the group lead and qualified with the Honduran team, which had six points in second place.
The Qatari team had won the match and the qualification ticket with two clean goals, scored by Hammam Al-Amin Ahmed and Abdul Aziz Hatem Muhammad Abdullah in the 25th and 90th minutes.
In this way, the Qatari team will face Salvador, who is second in Group A, in the quarter-finals, while Honduras will meet its Mexican counterpart, the leader of Group A.
