Fahad Al-Ansari on facing Bahrain: Gulf confrontations are always difficult

Fahad Al-Ansari, the Kuwaiti national team player, said during the press conference for the Bahrain-Kuwait meeting within the qualifying supplement for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021: “At the beginning, I would like to thank the State of Qatar for the hosting and distinguished organization; secondly, the match will be difficult for both teams. The Bahraini team is relatively well developed, but the Gulf teams’ matches are always close in level, and we hope that we will be successful and that victory will go to Al-Azraq.”

He added: “The match will not be open like our confrontation in the Gulf Cup. There will be caution and fairness in the performance.”

On whether he prefers to face a non-Gulf team in the match, he said: “As a player, I prefer to qualify regardless of the team I am facing, and the matches of the Gulf teams are difficult because they know each other well.”
