Bahrain coach Helio Souza: Facing Kuwait will not be easy
The Portuguese coach of the Bahraini national team, Helo Souza, confirmed that facing Kuwait in the Arab Cup qualifiers, the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™, will not be easy at all, pointing out that the Gulf privacy will be present in the match, given that both teams know each other.
Souza said at the pre-match press conference: “The confrontation is undoubtedly difficult. We have played against Kuwait on many Asian and Gulf occasions. Everything is open and there is nothing to hide.”
He added: “Our goal, of course, is to qualify for the Arab Cup finals and participate in the tournament, which is of great importance. We are really disappointed for not making it to the World Cup qualifiers, because luck did not help us qualify despite the good levels of effort presented by the team in the qualifiers, but small details prevented us from achieving our goal. We are now looking forward to the Arab Cup qualifiers with the aim of qualifying and participating in the finals.
The Portuguese coach praised the organization and said: “The organizational matters were done with precision, and everything went wonderfully. Qatar has great experience in organizing and has previously hosted major events, not to mention that it will host the World Cup finals next year.”
Regarding the pressures that could fall on the Bahraini national team as the Gulf champion, he said:” There is no pressure, but rather the positive pressure we put on ourselves in order to win all the occasions we enter including the Arab Cup qualifiers. We know the Kuwaiti team well and strive to win and qualify.”
