The Emirati White … a second Gulf title with a goal in the 107th minute

The 18th of January 2013 was not normal for the fans and lovers of the United Arab Emirates team, after their country won the Gulf 21 title in Bahrain in a wonderful tournament led by national coach Mahdi Ali.

The UAE national team scored a successful journey in the championship, qualifying as leaders of their group after their victory in three matches where they beat Qatar by three goals to one, Bahrain with two goals to one and a two-goal victory over Oman.

In the semi-final, UAE met the Kuwait national team and overtook them with a clean goal before facing the Iraqi national team in the final in a marathon match. The Emirati team advanced with Omar Abdulrahman’s goal in the 28th minute before Iraq scored the draw goal through Yunus Mahmoud in the 81st minute. Ismail Al Hammadi finally drew a smile scoring the second goal in the 107th minute to give his country the second Gulf title.
