Sanchez: We played well against Yemen

Qatari coach Felix Sanchez praised his team’s performance in the match against Yemen which they beat (6-0).

Sanchez said at the press conference that followed the game: “We played well and made a great performance in the game. The team was good from the personal and realistic aspects, and succeeded in creating opportunities that allowed us to score early, which gave us an advantage throughout the game.”

About the injury of AbdelAziz Hatim: “I have no idea the extent of the injury,” Sanchez said. “I have to go back to the medical staff to ask about it.”

Regarding the difference between the first match against Iraq and this match, he said: “The first game in such competitions will always be difficult”.

He added: “We respect all teams, and we consider every game as a final for us. We will enter UAE’s match with a strong mentality in order to win and qualify, and I say we are still in the competition and we have to respect all teams and prepare well for the next game. The game against UAE in the Asian final was different, the competition here is different. We have to prepare a tight plan for a positive outcome.”
