Helio Souza: Our goal is to win against Saudi Arabia

Bahrain coach Hélio Sousa has confirmed that he will enter Saudi Arabia to win.

“We focus on ourselves and try to improve our performance and will be more aggressive in the last third of the pitch. We know that the Saudi team needs to win and so are we.”

He added: “We are here to win all the games and try to move forward step by step. We played against the Omani team and provided a good level. We will try to beat Saudi Arabia in order to move forward and reach as far as possible to the championship.”

He further stated: The three encounters in the tournament have the same difficulty where everyone aspires to reach the golden box. What we have achieved against the Omani team is not bad but we failed to score, especially in the last quarter of the game, but I am very happy with the performance of the players. With Saudi Arabia, we want the three points and we will work to achieve them.”

As for the impact of Saudi Arabia’s defeat against Kuwait, he said: “It is difficult to face Saudi Arabia as it is considered one of the oldest and strongest teams in the region. We have to be aware of their potential, especially the individuals.”
