Oman training for the first time in Doha
The Omani team held its first training session in Doha on Sunday evening in preparation for its opening match in the Gulf 24 against the Bahraini brothers on Wednesday.
The training was held at Qatar University under the leadership of Dutch coach Irwin Koeman and his assistant crew, under the eyes of Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi, president of the Oman Football Association.
The team arrived in Doha on Saturday evening and held two sessions in the gym of Grand Hyatt before taking its first session in the presence of a media crowd reflecting the media attention enjoyed by the Gulf 24.
Striker Saeed Al-Ruzaiqi was injured and was unable to train with his team-mates throughout the training session. He will undergo more medical tests on Monday, according to team manager, Maqbool Al Balooshi.
It is worth saying that Oman is missing Raed Ibrahim and Jamil Al-Ahmadi, who are key players in the squad that won the title in Kuwait two years ago.
