Al-Rumaihi: Confirming Qatar will host the next Gulf Cup .. The date to be determined later

The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation held a press conference this evening following the election of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani as the president of the federation for the second round.

The conference was held in the presence of Jassem Al Rumaihi, Secretary General of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation, where Al Rumaihi explained in the conference attended by a number of media representatives that the meeting of the Ordinary General Assembly appointed auditors from the member associations.

He added: “One of the most important issues discussed was the adoption of the next Gulf Cup in Qatar and the confirmation of its right to do so. The tournament will be held on time, whether eight teams or five entered, according to the tournament system, which will be system of groups in the case of completing the number or one-round system in the case of the participation of five teams.

Regarding the date of its establishment, Al-Rumaihi said: “It will be announced later after the competitions committee raised its recommendation with the appropriate dates, taking into account the participation of Gulf teams members in regional championships.

Al-Rumaihi announced at the conference the recommendation of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani as president of the Gulf Cup Football Federation, as well as Dr. Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Shukaili as vice president, stressing that they are influential elements and have developmental ideas, wishing them success, and explained that their recommendation was recommended by the election commission.

He also discussed the sponsors of the Gulf Cup, explaining that the situation with the sponsoring company is not yet clear and will be resolved within two weeks to confirm sponsorship or search for alternatives.

Al-Rumaihi wished at the end of the conference the presence of all teams to preserve the history of the competition and seek to bequeath it to future generations, stressing that the continuation of the tournament for the benefit of football in the region.
