For the first time in its history.. Al-Nasr Al-Saudi is a champion for Arab clubs
Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia achieved the King Salman Cup for Arab clubs for the first time in its history, after defeating Al-Hilal (twice title holder) 2/1, in the final of the tournament hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hilal advanced through Michel Delgado in the 50th minute, from Malcolm’s cross from inside the penalty area with a header, before Cristiano Ronaldo equalized for victory in the 73rd minute, from Sultan Al-Ghanam’s cross.
Al-Nasr completed the meeting with ten players after its defender Abdullah Al-Omari was sent off in the 71st minute due to a violent interference with the Brazilian Malcolm. The second halfthe match ended in a 1/1 draw, to resort to two additional halves.
In the eighth minute of the first extra period, Ronaldo scored the second goal for Al-Nassr, after following up with a header for a ball that bounced off the crossbar after Fofana’s powerful shot from outside the penalty area, to give the Portuguese star Al-Nasr his first Arab title in his history.
