Revealing the logo of the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar

The Asian Football Confederation and the Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar launched the official logo for the tournament, during the tournament draw ceremony that was held on Thursday at Katara Opera Hall.

The new logo includes a display of the structure of the championship cup, as well as a group of unique cultural elements that express the spirit of the championship, while the lines of the championship cup take inspiration from the feathers of the falcon, a bird of historical value in the State of Qatar, as well as inspiration from the petals of the lotus flower, whose home comes from the continent of Asia, where these two symbols are united by one feature, which is their ability to rise to the top, through the rise of the lotus flower above the water, while the falcon soars in the sky.

The upper section of the logo is adorned with the distinctive burgundy color, which is the national color in the State of Qatar. The logo is also inspired by Arabic calligraphy designs. The lower section of the design contains a symbol resembling a piece of diamond, in a manner similar to the design of (the point) in the Arabic language, which is the symbol that adds Clarity in Arabic writing.

His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, said: The logo design reflects the aspirations of the Asian Football Confederation and the Local Organizing Committee, to take advantage of the most important and greatest championships in Asia in order to confirm the status of football as a first sport in the continent, by attracting the attention of millions. An ardent fan of Asian football, in addition to presenting clear elements in the dazzling design of the new trophy dedicated to the Asian Cup, and expressing the warm cultural aspects of Qatari and Arab culture.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar, said: We are excited once again to welcome football fans to Qatar, in what we hope will be the best edition ever. From the Asian Cup, football has the power to unite people and promote important cultural exchange, leaving a lasting legacy for Qatar and the entire continent.

He added: Revealing the championship logo highlights the richness of Qatari culture, and it announces the start of the countdown to the most important football tournaments in the continent, and during the coming months, the local organizing committee will work closely with the Asian Football Confederation in order to provide a memorable experience for fans and players. Both, showcasing the enormous talents possessed by the continent of Asia.

With the preparations for the tournament entering its final stages, the AFC Asian Cup logo will be one of the main elements that will be displayed throughout the Qatari capital, Doha, and the eight stadiums designated to host the tournament, in addition to displaying it on the rest of the tournament’s digital platforms, where emphasis will be placed on raising the status and value of the tournament. The sign of the most important championships in Asia, which will be held from January 12 to February 10, 2024 in Qatar.
