Qatar will host the decisive matches in the 2022 AFC Champions League for the West region

The Asian Football Confederation confirmed on Tuesday that the Qatar Football Association had been chosen to host the round of 16, quarter-final and semi-final matches in the 2022 AFC Champions League for the West region, with the grouping system.

The confrontations of the 16th round of the West region will witness the meeting of the Saudi Al-Hilal, the defending champion, with Shabab Al-Ahly Dubai of the Emirates, the Saudi youth with Nasaf of Uzbekistan, Al-Duhail of Qatar with his compatriot Al-Rayyan, and Al-Faisaly of Saudi Arabia with Foolad Khuzestan of Iran.

The Asian Football Confederation had previously announced the dates for the elimination round matches, as the round of 16 matches will be held on February 19 and 20, 2023, the quarter-finals on February 23, and the semi-finals on February 26.

It is noteworthy that the first leg of the final round will be held on April 29, 2023 at the home of the team that qualified from the West region, with the return match taking place on May 6, 2023 in Saitama, Japan (the home of the Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds, who qualified for the final for the East region).
