The Omani team beat Iraq in the international championship in Jordan
The Omani team beat its Iraqi counterpart on penalties after the original time ended in a positive tie with a goal for both, in the meeting that brought them together in the International Friendly Quartet Championship in Jordan on Friday evening at King Abdullah II Stadium in Qweismeh in the capital, Amman.
The Omani goal came 8 minutes before the final whistle by substitute Omar Al-Maliki with a header that inhabited the nets of Jalal Hassan, and after only 3 minutes Ayman Hussein’s header awarded Iraq a tie, and the tie continued, so the match went to a penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Salah Al Yahyai, Omar and Al-Maliki missed, Essam Al-Subhi, Moataz Saleh Abd Rabbo and Muhammad Al-Muslimi scored, and Al-Mukhaini saved three penalty kicks, so Al-Ahmar qualified for the final of the tournament.
