Omani team – the third arrival of Doha

The Omani national football team arrived on Saturday evening to participate in the 24th Gulf Cup Championship which will be held in Doha from 26 November to 8 December.

The delegation is headed by Sheikh Salim bin Saeed Al Wahaibi, president of the Oman Football Association together with some members of the federation.

Dutch coach Irwin Koeman has announced a 23-man squad for the tournament, which included most of the key players that won the Gulf title in the last edition. The most prominent of them are Ahmed Mubarak Kanoo, Mohammed Al-Musallami, Ali Al-Busaidi, Saad Suhail, Mohsen Gohar, Harib Al-Saadi and goalkeeper Fayez Al-Rashidi. From the other side, the list witnessed the absence of two important members – Raed Ibrahim and Jamil Al-Ahmadi (Al-Wakra) – due to injury.

Yemen and Iraq were the first to arrive in Doha, while delegations from Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia will arrive on Sunday.
