Changes in positions for Gulf teams in the International Federation classification
Today, Thursday, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the first monthly classification for the current year 2024.
The rankings witnessed changes in the positions of the Gulf teams, as the Qatari team, which recently won the Asian Nations Cup, jumped 21 steps to occupy 37th place in the world and fifth in Asia, behind Japan (18), Iran (20), South Korea (22) and Australia (23).
The Iraqi team also moved 4 steps to be in 59th place, preceded by the Saudi team in 53rd place after jumping three steps, while the UAE team fell 5 steps to occupy 69th place globally and ninth in Asia. The Oman team also fell 6 places to occupy 80th place globally and 11th in Asia.
