Results of the last round of the AFC Cup

Within the first group won by Oman’s Al-Nahda, the Lebanese Al-Ahed Club qualified for the West Asian semi-finals after defeating the Syrian Al-Futwa 2-1 at Al-Seeb Stadium in Muscat, in the sixth and final round of the first group competitions in the AFC Cup 2023-2024.

Al-Fatwa took the lead through Youssef Al-Hamawi’s goal in the 75th minute, before Al-Ahed responded with two goals from Walid Shor (90+2 from a penalty kick) and Muhammad Al-Hallaq (90+5).

Al-Nahda of Oman topped the group standings with 9 points from four matches, compared to 6 points for Al-Ahed and 3 for Al-Futwa, after the results of the Palestinian Jabal Al-Mukaber Club matches were cancelled.

The Kuwaiti club Al-Arabi also defeated the Lebanese club Al-Najma 2-1, at Jaber International Stadium in Kuwait, in the sixth and final round of the third group competitions. Ali Khalaf (33) and Hamza Khaba (71) scored the two goals for Al-Arabi, while Khalil Badr (45+5) scored Al Najma goal.

The second match in the same group also witnessed the victory of Al-Zawraa of Iraq over its guest, Al-Riffa of Bahrain, 2-1 at the Basra International Stadium in Basra. Al-Riffa took the lead through a goal by Joel Vinicius in the tenth minute, before Al-Zawraa responded with two goals by Hassan Abdul Karim (41) and Collins Obari (41). 83).

Al-Riffa completed the match with ten players after midfielder Abdulaziz Khaled was sent off in the 60th minute as a result of receiving a second warning.

While the Jordanian Al-Wahdat Club tied with its Kuwaiti guest, Kuwait, 1-1, at the Amman International Stadium in Amman, in the second group competitions, Kuwait took the lead in the first half through a goal by Fahd Al-Hajri in the 28th minute, before Al-Wahdat equalized through Bahaa Faisal (90).

The second match in the same group also witnessed the victory of Al-Kahraba of Iraq over the guest of Al-Ittihad Al-Ahly Aleppo of Syria 3-1 at the Basra International Stadium in Basra. Amouri Faisal (77), Daouda Diame (79) and Mohamed Khalil (89) scored Al-Kahraba’s goals, while Abdullah Najjar scored ( 90+3) Al-Ittihad Al-Ahly goal.

Al-Kahraba leads the group standings with 13 points from six matches, compared to 10 points for Al-Wehdat, 7 for Kuwait, and 2 points for Al-Ittihad, as Al-Kahraba qualified for the semi-finals of the Western Region, while Al-Wehdat is waiting to determine the best second-placed team.
